Position Summary
Provides customer service, processes both business and individual banking transactions, manages a cash drawer, and cross‑sells bank services.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for accurate, prompt and efficient customer transactions.
- Trial balances the cash drawer throughout the day.
- Balances and rolls the drawer at closing, comparing balances to the system.
- Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, checks endorsements, and reviews checks for potential fraud, including holds.
- Examines cash to guard against counterfeit bills.
- Cashes checks in accordance with bank policy.
- Enters transactions into the computer system and issues receipts.
- Assists customers with transactions and ATM operations.
- Maintains comprehensive customer service, including balancing the cash drawer to reduce and eliminate teller differences.
- Understands basic deposit and lending products & services.
- Identifies correct product types through needs‑based questioning, building customer relationships.
- Recommends products and services to business partners, assists with electronic services, and enters opportunities into customer information software.
- Serves as relief and/or backup teller in other Midland States Bank locations.
- Completes all assigned learning activities on time.
- Actively participates in weekly huddles and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
- Demonstrates and models Midland States Bank core values and engages in community activities.
- Travels occasionally for training and team meetings; willing to travel within the market as needed.
- May be required to work in a Midland office to support internal and external customers.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Lifting and transporting coin and currency bags weighing 25–50 pounds.

Teller Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour. Additional compensation may include short‑term incentives (bonus and/or commission) and long‑term incentives (stock awards).
