Job Description
This 13‑week contract offers a chance for experienced Labor & Delivery RNs to step into a level 2 maternity unit in Dixon, Illinois, working 12‑hour night shifts. You’ll be caring for high‑risk antepartum, postpartum, and nursery patients, including those in baby‑friendly practices. The role involves working alongside permanent staff, with occasional rotation to other departments during surge times, and requires a focus on antepartum, postpartum, and nursery care without scrub or circulate responsibilities during C‑sections.
This assignment provides an opportunity to hone neonatal skills and experience a facility with 80 beds, including a unit with 7 beds plus overflow, following AWHONN staffing guidelines. The position emphasizes dependability, positivity, and motivation, and offers a comprehensive orientation, including 3 days of on‑unit training and testing. Transportation and facility amenities include 24/7 pharmacy, EPIC charting, and provided scrubs.
