UPM Adhesive Materials is now looking for a Production Supervisor, Finishing who will be responsible for day-to-day operation of production unit.
This is a straight third shift position working from 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM. It would also include working outside normal hours for training, or other objectives, and additional hours when necessary.

You Will Do
- Create and assure a safety conscious work environment.
- Be responsible for overseeing the day to day activities and effectiveness of production crew(s); assure appropriate staffing levels, coverage, and other practical matters, participate in the recruitment and selection of new associates, be in charge of daily and monthly reporting.
- Take care of Employee Relations, including management of related administrative duties including payroll, vacation, attendance, performance evaluations, personal target setting and work schedules.
- Work closely with maintenance staff leadership to schedule required maintenance, including planned and preventive maintenance tasks, maintain appropriate documentation related to processes, performance, etc., analyze as appropriate to determine and execute on best practices.
- Be responsible for Finishing related housekeeping, 5S and Lean6
Sigma initiatives. - Take care of Crew Production performance analysis and evaluation for providing process, quality, and waste improvement as well as implementation and control of working procedures in department in cooperation with department Manager and process engineers.
- Ensure adequate level of basic production supplies.
- Support implementation of “UPM Step Change in Quality” program initiatives for Dixon. Other tasks specified in the Quality Systems.
- You any combination of education and experience equivalent to a BS in engineering or related field and 2-3 years supervisory experience in a paper converting / finishing environment, and knowledge of mechanical and / or electrical maintenance.
- You can serve as an effective team leader and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to relate well with a diverse group of co-workers and operators.
- You have well-developed problem solving skills, and demonstrated inventiveness and initiative.
- You will fully support management teams decisions and learn and support our standard work processes.
- You have previous computer experience, including MS Office products and automated production management systems.
