Job Summary
As a Machine Operator at SPX Technologies, you will operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch machines that cut shapes and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
Job Responsibilities- Load and unload materials into the machine
- Set up and change tooling used in the machine
- Operate machine controls and change programming for each work order
- Interpret mechanical engineered drawings (blueprints)
- Troubleshoot issues with assistance
- Clean machines and complete preventative maintenance per schedule
- Complete necessary paperwork
- Report on supply levels
- Assist in other work areas as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
- 1 year experience operating fabricating machinery
- Read a tape measure and ruler and convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
- 1‑2 years’ experience programming equipment
- Meet all product quality requirements
- Ability to use precision hand tools
- Spot welding
- Attention to detail
- High school diploma or GED required
- Onsite
- The employee will be required to stand and walk for at least 8 hours.
- Regularly required to push/pull material with assistance of overhead crane.
- Climb stairs, reach and bend regularly.
- Occasionally sit, grasp, climb, crawl, twist, and work at heights.
- Occasionally lift, hold and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Manufacturing environment requires use of required Personal Protective Equipment such as foot, eye and ear protection when in production locations.
- Potential exposure to bad weather, excessive heat, and/or excessive noise.
Estimated salary range: $37,000 – $61,000. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan. SPX offers a variety of benefits, including health benefits, 401(k) retirement with company match, and paid time off.
