Location& Shift
Maintenance Technician position located in Dixon, IL. 2nd shift, Monday‑Thursday 2:00PM‑12:00AM, occasional Fridays.
Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems of plant equipment.
- Determine root cause of a problem, recommend effective solutions, and implement within limits set by the supervisor.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks (PMs).
- Carry out building maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, welding, plumbing, lighting, and electrical repairs.
- Operate and maintain general machine shop tools and equipment such as band saws, belt sanders, welders, lathes, drill presses.
- Fabricate simple tooling and fixtures from designs or sketches.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles (fork trucks, lifts, floor sweepers, etc.) and attachments.
- Assist in new equipment installations or relocations—including moving, assembling, rigging, installing air piping, running conduit, leveling and aligning equipment from blueprints, schematics, and specs.
- Repair machines and equipment according to maintenance schedule with minimal interruption to production.
- Maintain buildings and grounds as needed; light janitorial duties required.
- Locate and help maintain maintenance inventory.
- Determine root cause and provide positive feedback for corrective action plans to improve equipment reliability.
- Comply with all DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Experience with control wiring, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, machining, and HVAC.
- Proficiency using a computer for data entry and retrieval.
- Ability to read and follow specifications and procedures.
- Ability to comprehend mechanical and electrical blueprints.
- PLC/CNC experience.
- Understanding of pumps and valves and their application; refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment; PLC concepts.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial electric symbols and line diagrams, control logic-line diagrams, AC/DC motors, motor starters and motor controllers.
- Experience working with chemicals and other materials within acceptable exposure limits.
- Multi‑craft certification.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and potentially dirty environment.
- Strong communication and interaction skills with all plant employees.
- Adaptability to a fast‑paced work environment.
Hourly Pay Rate: $28.00 plus shift differential. Position is overtime eligible per state and federal regulations. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, training, education, and performance. Eligible for an annual incentive plan based on performance and company growth.
