LSSI is hiring a Group Home Head Nurse/RN Trainer (Contract Only) to maintain excellent oversight of the client’s healthcare and to train direct support personnel in alignment with DHS requirements.
Salary- This is a 1099 contract position (indefinite end date)
- $30-32/hourly
- Ensure Rule 116 is followed at all sites.
- Provide supervision and training to RN Nurse Trainers on Rule 115 and 116.
- Assist with and be knowledgeable of the general health status of residents.
- Review, track and participate in Quality Assurance for all medication errors.
- Audit sites for compliance with Rule 115 and 116.
- Review and update policies and procedures of LSSI and DHS/DDD.
- On-call availability for consultation.
- Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations alike in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
- Ensure a workplace where employees are engaged, their dignity is valued, and they have a sense of belonging within their role and the organization overall.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences of clients, coworkers, and the community.
- Maintain and review all records for initial and annual Mediation Administration training for staff.
- Ensure MARS has all appropriate information monthly.
- Monitor HRST to ensure compliance.
- Provide RN Nurse Trainer backup services to sites when site RN is not available.
- Consult program management with regard to the delivery of medical services.
- Communicate with outside vendors to ensure clients receive needed care.
- Provide leadership and training as needed to nurses and direct service personnel.
- Ensure sites are compliant with Settings Rule regarding healthcare and medications.
- Provide consultation and training to SDS programs (Home Care and Housing) for care plan review as needed.
- Provide CPR training as needed.
- Respond to all incoming correspondence and questions in a timely manner, including inquiries received via email, telephone, text message, and fax.
- Ensure reasonable measures are taken to protect confidential and/or sensitive information and maintain the security of all LSSI systems.
- Complete all required training assignments and comply with related organizational, administrative, and programmatic requirements.
- Unencumbered Illinois Professional Registered Nurse license required.
Licensure/Certification s
- Background check clearance required.
- Unencumbered Illinois Professional Registered Nurse license required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical professional experience within the past five (5) years required.
- Ability to become an RN Nurse Trainer through DDD required.
- Experience working with individuals with development disabilities preferred.
- Experience providing leadership and training to nursing and direct care personnel preferred.
- Participation in ongoing learning opportunities to keep skills current required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent organizational skills and basic PC/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other related software required.
- Driving Requirements:
Valid driver’s license in good standing for the state of residency required. - Access to reliable transportation required.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, including bodily injury and property damage, required.
