Health Assistant (Nurse)

Dixon School District #170 is accepting applications for the shared position of Health Assistant (Nurse) at Thomas J. Dempsey Therapeutic Day School for the  school year.

Duties Include:

• Administer first aid to students and staff; assess students' complaints of illness.
• Make decisions to have ill or injured students transported to a doctor, hospital or home when needed.
• Review student health records; verify that physicals and immunizations are compliant.
• Perform routine health care duties as directed by the Health Services Coordinator.
• Maintain student health records.

Qualifications:

• RN or LPN with current active license.
• Interest and ability to work with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to perform routine health care duties as directed by the District Health Coordinator.
• Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation between the school buildings daily.

Salary and Fringe Benefits:

• Hourly rate will be determined based upon license and experience.
• Fifteen (15) sick days per year.
• Two (2) days personal leave per year.
• Health insurance.
• Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) Pay Range for LPN: $19.59-$24.14 Pay Range for RN: $20.75-$25.42
