Truck Equipment Service Technician:
Dixon, Illinois
Our customer in Dixon, Illinois, is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Truck Equipment Service Technician to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Truck Equipment Service Technician, you’ll support custom truck equipment installations by performing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fabrication work to ensure high-quality, customer-ready results.
Responsibilities of the Truck Equipment Service Technician:- Install, assemble, and service truck equipment using mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components.
- Operate hand and power tools including wrenches, air tools, drills, grinders, welding equipment, and measuring tools.
- Perform MIG welding, light fabrication, cutting, and finishing as required for custom installations.
- Read and follow work instructions to install, fasten, and connect parts correctly.
- Inspect previous installations and verify quality of completed work before final approval.
- Use technology to document completed installations and job progress.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding parts inventory and job status to avoid delays.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist coworkers as needed to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Vocational training or hands-on experience in automotive, industrial, or mechanical repair preferred.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, hydraulics, and electrical systems preferred.
- Ability to read instructions and use measuring tools accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
Pay: $25/hour.
