Vehicle Mechanic

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Vehicle Mechanic 1 to join our Transportation Department team. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and specialized transportation equipment.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Replace or repair defective parts, components, and systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations while working in the shop and on vehicles.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in automotive technology preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Ability to diagnose problems accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
