As an Asphalt Crew Member, you will work alongside skilled professionals to design safe, high‑quality roads.
- Champion safety by following all protocols and using proper equipment.
- Support the team by collaborating with managers and co‑workers, communicating clearly, solving problems, and following instructions from Forepersons or Supervisors.
- Execute project tasks: shoveling, raking, wheelbarrow operation, signaling operators, moving materials, and following directions for each job site.
- Operate tools & equipment: run small power tools such as jackhammers and handle traffic control devices (signs, cones, barricades).
- Handle materials: lift, carry, position construction materials, tools, and supplies for efficiency and safety.
- Prepare sites: dig, spread, and level construction materials.
- Report problems: proactively communicate concerns or issues to your manager.
- Adaptability: take on other duties as assigned, embracing new tasks and challenges with a can‑do attitude.
- Safety‑focused: thrive in safety‑sensitive environments and strictly follow procedures.
- Team player: collaborate, assist, and support co‑workers and supervisors.
- Travel & flexibility: willingness to travel, work night shifts, weekends, overtime, and outdoors in all weather.

- Punctual & reliable: arrive on time, prepared for daily tasks.
- Physical readiness: pass a fit‑for‑work physical, drug screen, criminal background check; endurance in lifting and manual labor.
- Documentation: provide valid I‑9 documentation for employment eligibility.
- Driver requirements: complete safe driver training, maintain a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) with a good record.
- PPE compliance: wear all required personal protective equipment per OSHA/MSHA and company policies.
- Age requirement: at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
- Prior experience in construction or paving is a plus; motivated individuals eager to learn are welcomed.
Work Environment Requirements
- Frequently required to climb, balance, perform tasks requiring physical agility.
- Regularly sit, climb, use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 25‑50 lbs as needed.
- Work mainly outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions, exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
- Must meet vision abilities to operate equipment safely.
- Reasonable accommodations provided for individuals with disabilities.
