Your Impact and Responsibilities

As an Asphalt Crew Member, you will work alongside skilled professionals to design safe, high‑quality roads.

  • Champion safety by following all protocols and using proper equipment.
  • Support the team by collaborating with managers and co‑workers, communicating clearly, solving problems, and following instructions from Forepersons or Supervisors.
  • Execute project tasks: shoveling, raking, wheelbarrow operation, signaling operators, moving materials, and following directions for each job site.
  • Operate tools & equipment: run small power tools such as jackhammers and handle traffic control devices (signs, cones, barricades).
  • Handle materials: lift, carry, position construction materials, tools, and supplies for efficiency and safety.
  • Prepare sites: dig, spread, and level construction materials.
  • Report problems: proactively communicate concerns or issues to your manager.
  • Adaptability: take on other duties as assigned, embracing new tasks and challenges with a can‑do attitude.

  • Driver requirements: complete safe driver training, maintain a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) with a good record.
  • PPE compliance: wear all required personal protective equipment per OSHA/MSHA and company policies.
  • Age requirement: at least 18 years old.
Preferred Experience & Education
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
  • Prior experience in construction or paving is a plus; motivated individuals eager to learn are welcomed.
Physical &

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, perform tasks requiring physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25‑50 lbs as needed.
  • Work mainly outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions, exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
  • Must meet vision abilities to operate equipment safely.
  • Reasonable accommodations provided for individuals with disabilities.
