Length of Employment:
The term of employment for all student work study jobs is the beginning of the academic year to the end of the academic year at the end of the Spring semester. Both supervisors and student workers can end their employment at any time throughout this time frame. All individuals eligible for student work study must be enrolled in and maintain a minimum of six (6) credit hours of enrollment throughout their employment and remain in good academic standing as outlined by school policies and federal financial aid guidelines.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Vocal Music Instructor, the Vocal Music Assistant is responsible for assisting the department oversee and prepare facilities, supplies, and office work as assigned.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

* To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals.

* Assist staff with set up of materials, equipment, and supplies for classroom or performance use.

* Assist staff with facility maintenance and cleaning/sanitizing the art areas when requested.

* Assist staff with rehearsal and performance set up including, but not limited to, preparing sheet music, assisting with setup and tear down, preparing and handing out materials, etc.

* Assist with media materials for performances and posts/advertisements on social media as needed.

* Assist with any office work or administrative assistant duties as assigned by the supervisor including, but not limited to, office work, copying of materials, filing, etc.

* Assist with freight when needed with new supplies and materials.

* All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma/GED

* Must be enrolled in and maintain six (6) credit hours at Dodge City Community College.

* Must remain in good academic standing.

* Available in the afternoons - available in evenings or on weekends for performances.

Preferred Qualifications

* Dependable and responsible.

* Excellent time management skills.

* Ability to follow detailed instructions.

* Self motivated.

Physical Qualifications

* Ability to bend, stoop, jump, kneel, and sit/stand for extended periods of time.

* Ability to carry equipment and supplies.

* Ability to ambulate and navigate stairs and ramps throughout the campus.
