Paraprofessional Position

High School diploma required and 48 credit hours from an accredited college, university or technical school or passing score on the Para Pro Assessment; commitment to continue career improvement; the ability to keep information confidential; the ability to follow written or spoken instructions without close supervision; clerical and/or tutorial skills required; basic administrative skills helpful on limited basis. From July 27 to Aug 7 summer paraprofessional jobs will be paid at the employees current paraprofessional wage.

You must have 48 college credits or State of Kansas Paraprofessional Certification to qualify for this position! If you do not have 48 college credits, the parapro assessment is available through the Human Resources Office. If you are interested in taking the parapro assessment, please contact the Human Resources Office at  for more information.

Essential Functions:

• Assist professional staff in instructional or supportive services that occasionally require self-direction and decision making skills.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff; some limited contact with community patrons may be required.
• Operate all equipment related to specific job duties, including computers with various software applications appropriate for the position.
• Organize and file documents so they are readily available to the professional employee in charge.
• Support the value of an education.
• Support the philosophy and mission of USD 443.
• Be able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
• Requires patience to work with numerous interruptions.
