Length of Employment:
The term of employment for all student work study jobs is the beginning of the academic year to the end of the academic year at the end of the Spring semester. Both supervisors and student workers can end their employment at any time throughout this time frame. All individuals eligible for student work study must be enrolled in and maintain a minimum of six (6) credit hours of enrollment throughout their employment and remain in good academic standing as outlined by school policies and federal financial aid guidelines.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Student Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting with all game day, practices, and athletic training room duties as assigned.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

* To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals.

* Assist staff and athletic administration with facility management and set up for game days, practices, therapy sessions, etc. including, but not limited to, setup/cleanup of equipment, sanitizing and cleaning facilities and equipment, organizing supplies and taping tables, etc.

* Assist with game day and practice operations as assigned by supervisor and/athletic administration including, but not limited to, checking athletes in, assisting with modalities and taping/bracing under the guidance of the certified athletic trainers, etc.

* Assist with any office work or administrative assistant duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or athletic administration including, but not limited to, office work, copying of materials, filing, etc.

* All other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or athletic administration.

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma/GED

* Must be enrolled in and maintain six (6) credit hours at Dodge City Community College.

* Must remain in good academic standing.

* Available in the evenings and on weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

* Dependable and responsible.

* Excellent time management skills.

* Ability to follow detailed instructions.

* General knowledge of athletics.

* Self motivated.

Physical Qualifications

* Ability to bend, stoop, jump, kneel stand, walk and be on your feet for extended periods of time.

* Ability to carry equipment needed to and from practice and games.

* Ability to ambulate and navigate stairs and ramps throughout the campus complex.
