Job Summary
The incumbent will assist the development and implementation of category plans by providing in-depth, accurate and detailed spend analysis, under the supervision of AVP and SVP Category Management. The focus is on driving category performance and supporting the end-to-end procurement process for strategic/critical goods and services, maximizing value and improving procurement performance across all categories. This includes delivering sustainable value through detailed analysis of global procurement spend, providing base data to support category strategy development, and supporting key strategic supplier relationships that drive innovation.
MainResponsibilities
- Shareholder & Financial:
Implement KPIs and best practices for the Senior Associate, Category Management role; promote cost consciousness and efficiency to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank; act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent. - Customer (Internal & External):
Identify and prioritise key categories through detailed spend analysis that align with/best serve QNB’s wider business objectives; highlight and support aggregation opportunities for supplier and product/service rationalisation; develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders (expense owners, end users) and promote best-in-class category management; take responsibility and accountability for the assigned category of spend as a subject matter expert and role model. - Vendor & Process:
Support AVP and SVP Category Management (and VP Supplier Relationship Management) in building strong vendor management from market analysis to the vendor administrative database, with linkage to Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) for respective categories; keep abreast of market trends and capitalize on changes; combine market intelligence with knowledge of existing supplier arrangements to monitor supply market dynamics and business needs;
provide timely data to auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk as required. - Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
Deliver KPI reporting as required; provide input on process and policy improvements; schedule and oversee meetings related to Category & Sourcing strategy and supplier panel development; support the development and agreement of the annual procurement plan through spend analysis to understand past and ongoing spend and forecast budget requirements; identify potential risk areas and assist with risk mitigation planning; optimize Category & Sourcing data, methods and tools;
analyze spend data and market data to inform sourcing strategies. - Learning & Knowledge:
Proactively identify areas for professional development and stay current with developments in the field; ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and risk frameworks including AML & CTF, sanctions, data protection, fraud control, whistle blowing, conflict of interest and insider dealing policies; comply with Group Procurement Policies and Procedures; participate in required trainings and seminars. - Other:
Maintain data protection and confidentiality; uphold high professional standards to support QNB’s reputation; perform all other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Education And Experience Requirements
- University graduate (Bachelor’s), preferably with a related major.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank in data analytics, with good command of data requests and Excel management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic; good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and practices; ability to interact with various departments to collect and analyse data; personal integrity and self-management; strong planning, organising and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in analytical tools is a plus (Microsoft Excel, SQL, SAP).
- Self-sufficient and innovative.
