As an Inventory Planning Specialist within Qatar Airways Catering Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely availability, accuracy, and quality of all catering inventory used across our global operations. Your work directly supports a complex 24/7 aviation operation and involves close collaboration with international suppliers, Logistics, Product Development, and multiple stakeholder teams.
Responsibilities- Oversee and maintain the full catering inventory catalogue, ensuring all item data remains accurate and up‑to‑date.
- Develop and manage an accurate global inventory forecast to support operational planning.
- Monitor inventory life cycles and consumption trends, ensuring stock availability aligns with real operational needs.
- Ensure all inventory requirements are documented properly and in compliance with governance standards.
- Lead the procurement of all inventory items, avoiding stockouts while achieving the lowest possible unit cost.
- Manage global inventory levels and supplier backup stocks to optimize stock holding and protect operational continuity.
- Oversee warehouse contracts and stock‑control procedures in Doha and other international locations.
- Drive the introduction of new inventory items and timely removal of obsolete stock across the network.
- Inspect new inventory deliveries to ensure they meet agreed specifications and implement corrective actions when required.
- Collaborate with suppliers and Logistics teams to optimize logistics costs and streamline transportation and stock movement.
- Perform other department duties related to this position as directed by the Head of the Department.
- High School Diploma / Vocational Qualification; bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of experience in Demand & Supply Planning.
- Experience in Logistics, Procurement, Global Supply Planning or Supplier Management.
- Experience managing ERP / Stock Control systems (Oracle, SAP, Qosmos).
- Strong analytical skills using Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of forecasting and its different algorithms.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and under pressure, multitask, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Managerial skills including workflow management, mentoring, and team development.
