Commercial Efficiency Manager
About the role
Supports the delivery of Qatar Airways' commercial efficiency agenda by owning the execution of a defined workstream within the Distribution & Commercial Efficiency function—spanning any combination of commercial systems & tools, sales enablement & capabilities, commercial steering, policies & guidelines, or other assigned areas. Manages a sub‑team of Commercial Efficiency Specialists and Officers, translating the direction set by the relevant Manager into structured plans, clear task ownership, and measurable outcomes.
Operates as a cross‑functional connector, working closely with International Sales & Doha Sales, Leisure & Business Travel, IT, Finance, and other technical and non‑technical teams to ensure that commercial efficiency work streams are delivered with speed, consistency, and control across the organisation.
- Translate the strategic direction set by the Manager into structured, time‑bound delivery plans—defining clear milestones, resource requirements, and success criteria for all work streams under their ownership.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Commercial Efficiency function by identifying gaps in current processes, tools, or policies and proactively proposing solutions with supporting rationale and business impact assessment.
- Represent the Commercial Efficiency function in cross‑functional forums and working groups—engaging with International Sales & Doha Sales, Leisure & Business Travel, IT, Finance, Audit, and other internal stakeholders to align on requirements, resolve dependencies, and ensure commercial efficiency priorities are understood and supported across the organisation.
- Support the Manager in the development of business cases, governance documentation, and management reporting—providing well‑structured analysis and recommendations that enable informed decision‑making at senior level.
- Monitor industry developments, internal performance data, and stakeholder feedback within their workstream area, surfacing relevant insights to the GR9 Manager and recommending adjustments to plans or priorities as needed.
- Manage the day‑to‑day delivery of assigned work streams—overseeing the work of Commercial Efficiency Specialists and Officers, allocating tasks, setting deadlines, reviewing outputs, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for cross‑functional stakeholders on matters within their workstream scope—managing requirements intake, resolving operational queries, escalating where necessary, and maintaining clear communication throughout.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant commercial policies, governance frameworks, and audit requirements within their area of responsibility—identifying and addressing non‑compliance promptly and maintaining accurate process documentation.
- Coordinate audit findings, risk registry actions, and internal governance requirements relevant to their workstream—tracking remediation progress, preparing status updates, and ensuring timely closure of open items.
- Develop and maintain accurate records, trackers, and reporting outputs within their workstream—ensuring that data is current, accessible, and presented in a format that supports management decision‑making and stakeholder communication.
- Support the onboarding and development of Commercial Efficiency Specialists and Officers within their sub‑team—providing structured guidance, regular feedback, and on‑the‑job coaching to build capability and ensure consistent performance.
