Shelter Construction is seeking an accomplished and commercially astute Business Development Manager to spearhead business expansion, strengthen market presence, and secure high-value construction opportunities across Qatar.
This is a strategic leadership role for a results-driven professional with a strong network in the construction industry, proven success in project acquisition, and the ability to build long-term relationships with clients, consultants, developers, and government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Growth- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives and revenue targets.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new opportunities across construction, infrastructure, and engineering sectors.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
- Contribute to strategic planning and market expansion initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, consultants, PMCs, and government authorities.
- Establish Shelter Construction as a preferred contractor through proactive engagement and exceptional client service.
- Identify upcoming projects and position the company early in the procurement cycle.
- Drive client retention and repeat business through effective relationship management.
- Identify and secure prequalification opportunities, tenders, RFPs, and negotiated contracts.
- Collaborate with Estimation, Commercial, Contracts, Procurement, and Operations teams to develop winning proposals.
- Manage opportunity pipelines and ensure timely follow-up on prospective projects.
- Support the preparation and submission of technically compliant and commercially competitive bids.
- Lead project acquisition efforts and convert opportunities into awarded projects.
- Participate in commercial negotiations and strategic partnership discussions.
- Contribute to revenue generation, profitability improvement, and market share growth.
- Ensure alignment between business opportunities and the company's commercial objectives.
- Develop strategic alliances with key industry stakeholders, consultants, developers, and subcontractors.
- Represent the company at industry events, networking forums, exhibitions, and conferences.
- Promote the company’s capabilities, project portfolio, and value proposition to prospective clients.
- Strengthen brand visibility and enhance market reputation across Qatar.
- Maintain a robust database of clients, opportunities, competitors, and market intelligence.
- Prepare pipeline reports, sales forecasts, and business development performance reports.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on market insights and business trends.
- Support senior management with data-driven business decisions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in Business Development, Commercial Management, Sales, or Client Relationship Management within the construction, contracting, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
- Proven track record of securing major construction projects and delivering measurable revenue growth.
- Strong experience in developing strategic relationships with clients, consultants, developers, government entities, and PMCs.
- Demonstrated success in identifying, pursuing, and closing high-value business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, tendering procedures, procurement processes, and project delivery methodologies.
- Excellent negotiation, networking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate opportunities and drive profitable growth.
- Experience using CRM and pipeline management systems such as Salesforce, Hub Spot, or Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Working knowledge of Qatar tendering platforms and government procurement portals is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of GCC construction market experience.
- Established network of industry contacts within Qatar.
- Proven experience securing major construction projects and large-scale annual project portfolios.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, APMP, CIOB, RICS, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
- Arabic language proficiency is a plus.
