Qatar Airways is hiring a Planning Officer (Product Development) to support its catering and product innovation operations in Doha. The role is responsible for managing and maintaining ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system data, particularly related to product grids, menus, and Bill of Materials (BOM). - Maintain and update all ERP master databases, including grids and BOM entries, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Review all product and BOM data to eliminate obsolete or duplicate entries.
- Initiate and track RFCs (Reason for Change) and RFRCs (Reason for Recipe Change), ensuring timely communication with all relevant departments.
- Train and support the product development team on JDE (JD Edwards) system operations, including data entry and system updates.
- Coordinate with planning teams to maintain data accuracy and remove outdated information from the system.
- Oversee and verify data shared for Crew Handover Sheets (CHS), Specifications (SPECS), and Menus.
- Liaise with internal teams and customers to ensure all product‑related data is consistent and compliant with catering and production standards.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and data management efficiency.
- Prepare reports and data summaries for management and other stakeholders.
- Support the ongoing development and optimization of the manufacturing module to ensure maximum system utilization and performance.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 4 years of job‑related experience.
- Experience in medium to large‑scale catering or production planning operations preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically JD Edwards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to train and guide team members in data management and system usage.
- Knowledge of in‑flight catering processes, product configuration, and system control mechanisms.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining precision and data integrity.
