Job Summary

The BD Specialist supports the CEO-reporting Business Development unit by driving the development of selected strategic topics that contribute to QSE's growth, market development, and institutional priorities. The role is responsible for structuring topics assigned by the CEO, identified by the BD unit, or raised by departments where a business development perspective is required, and translating them into clear workplans, analysis, recommendations, and actionable next steps.

The role is designed for a business development, strategy, or market development professional who can manage work streams from issue framing through to senior-ready output development. The Specialist works closely with the Head of Business Development, guides the BD Analyst, coordinates department inputs, and ensures that BD unit outputs are fact-based, practical, and ready for senior discussion and decision-making.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Structure assigned topics by selecting the appropriate problem-solving approach, defining key questions, developing assumptions, and clarifying the analysis required.
  • Craft and test hypotheses, distil findings for senior audiences, and develop practical recommendations covering trade-offs, dependencies, and areas requiring Head of BD or CEO direction.
  • Design the research approach for assigned topics, including sources, benchmark markets, information needs, and validation requirements.
  • Develop fact-based assessments that connect research, internal inputs, and quantitative analysis into clear conclusions, and assess QSE's position against market evidence and relevant benchmarks.
  • Produce senior-ready materials including presentation packs, briefing notes, and opportunity assessments, built on clear storylines that connect issue, evidence, implications, recommendations, and next steps.
  • Coordinate with QSE departments to collect input, validate information, reflect department perspectives, and support working discussions that align inputs into an initial overall view.
  • Track progress of assigned BD work streams, including actions, deadlines, dependencies, and decisions, and elevate delays, missing input, or prioritization conflicts to the Head of BD in a timely manner.
  • Guide the BD Analyst by reviewing outputs, providing feedback, and ensuring research, analysis, materials, and trackers meet required standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Big Four firm, professional services firm, multinational organization, capital markets institution, financial services organization, or similar environment, with exposure to strategy, business development, research, or business analysis.
  • Proven experience structuring business problems, developing hypotheses, conducting research, analyzing information, and translating findings into clear recommendations and senior-ready materials.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to collect inputs, validate information, align perspectives, and progress work streams.
  • Experience guiding junior team members, reviewing outputs, managing workplans, and tracking actions, dependencies, and follow-ups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis clearly to senior audiences.
  • Exposure to capital markets, exchanges, financial services, listed companies, investors, brokers, or market infrastructure is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English is required;
    Arabic is desirable.
