The Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) is an independent organization focused on advancing sustainable development, environmental performance, and green building practices. The Global Accreditation Board (GAB), established under GORD, supports these objectives by providing accreditation services for conformity assessment bodies and ensuring their competence, impartiality, and consistent performance in accordance with international standards.

The Global Accreditation Board (GAB) is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accreditation Officer to support the management and implementation of its accreditation activities across certification, validation and verification, laboratory accreditation, and other conformity assessment fields, while ensuring alignment with relevant international standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule assessments in accordance with GAB standards, policies, and procedures.
Maintain GAB’s documented management system in compliance with ISO/IEC 17011
.
Manage assessment records and coordinate invoice generation for completed assessments.
Oversee accreditation workflows to ensure timely and efficient processing.
Follow up with clients and assessment teams on pending actions, delays, and assessment schedules.
Participate in assessments when required, subject to relevant competence and qualifications.

Qualifications and

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Minimum five years of relevant professional experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with:

At least two years of industrial experience.

At least three years of experience in conformity assessment activities within a certification or accreditation body.

Knowledge and

Competencies:

Strong understanding of industrial processes and operations.
Familiarity with international conformity assessment standards and ISO requirements related to:

Accreditation

Certification

Validation and verification

Laboratory accreditation

Other related conformity assessment activities

Required Skills:

Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to prepare professional reports and correspondence.
Working knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
Lead Auditor training or certification is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment.
Ability to work effectively with clients, assessors, and professionals from diverse cultural and international backgrounds.
