About the roleYou will be creating added value to the QR Group by acting as a Finance business partner and single point of contact for senior/executive management in Commercial, specifically for Revenue Management and Corporate Planning. You will build a trustworthy relationship with key stakeholders (Revenue Management SVP, Chief Officer Corporate Planning & Alliances, their teams) through meaningful and insightful reporting, analyses, and profitability improvement recommendations.
Your role is to bridge Finance with the respective business and act as a liaison focusing on connecting the dots within QR Group. Collaboration is key, as is sharp financial acumen. You will also ensure compliance with Qatar Airways accounting policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of Qatar Airways Group goals and objectives and overall management of the organization, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and providing insightful information to the senior management team.
- Develop strategic financial plans and budgets, providing management with necessary information to measure performance and steer Revenue Management towards sustained profitability.
- Advise the CFO and other key members of finance senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
- Ensure effective communication and relationship between senior management Finance and Commercial (Revenue Management and Corporate Planning), acting as a business partner to bridge business and finance.
- Manage, capture and integrate market intelligence into strategic planning, focusing on delivering competitive advantage.
- Perform financial analyses, including weekly/monthly/quarterly KPI reporting, cost of investment and potential financing scenarios, realistic revenue/cost assumptions, manpower impact, sensitivity analysis, and generation of EVA metrics (IRR, NPV, payback analysis) while highlighting project risks and opportunities.
- Present an objective view of the financial situation, providing sound recommendations for efficient allocation of resources to achieve Revenue Management and Corporate Planning goals.
- Incorporate forecast planning into the organization and ensure provisions for major risks and opportunities defined during normal operations.
- Lead units and strategic business drivers to determine investment allocation, creating comprehensive business cases for proposed projects, assessing investment cost and benefits, scope, dependencies, risk, alignment to strategic objectives, and validating ROI and NPV.
- Create awareness of financial dynamics for senior management through transparent, reliable reports, analyses, and presentations focused on KPIs and key messages.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of job‐related history.
- Minimum 5 years in an airline management position and people‑management experience.
- Experience as a Finance Business Partner to Commercial Revenue Management divisions and stakeholders, preferably in large, structured airlines.
- Knowledgeable in airline operations, with a preference for commercial matters.
- Working understanding of airline route profitability principles and tools.
- Command of the English language.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review variances and understand the business cycle impact on the P&L.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to work effectively across the organization.
