Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for performing accurate and timely Account reconciliation of Nostro within the QNB Group, including governance over international branches and subsidiaries, and for ensuring all outstanding/unreconciled items are communicated to the relevant area and cleared on a timely basis after proper investigation. The role also involves generating and analysing balances reports for all accounts on a daily basis for Treasury Ops and the Dealing room, and reporting any doubtful or fictitious transactions as per established procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Shareholder & Financial:
    • Perform daily reconciliation for assigned Nostro & QATCH Accounts to enable timely identification and resolution of outstanding reconciliation items and thereby prevent any losses incurred by the Group.
    • Implement KPIs and best practices for the Associate Reconciliation & Account Investigation role.
    • Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
    • Promote cost consciousness, efficiency and productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste and optimise benefits for the bank.
  • Customer (Internal & External):
    • Provide coverage to various local and international departments/units within QNB Group, issuing reports that identify areas requiring improvement from an operational/control perspective.
    • Assist customers with all queries related to the bank’s products and seek solutions to their requests.
    • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turnaround time.
    • Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
    • Provide timely and accurate data to external/internal auditors, compliance, financial control and risk teams when required.
  • Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
    • Ensure the existence of adequate policies and procedures that define the scope of the control activities and the reporting requirements.
    • Conduct central reconciliations in accordance with laid‑down procedures to discover and correct errors, omissions, duplications and unexplained items, identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
    • Verify and confirm the performance and functional aspects of Nostro reconciliation and proof reports.
    • Prepare required reports as per agreed KPIs and KRIs and share/discuss them with the concerned area within QNB Group.
    • Suggest modifications and/or identify suitable alternate solutions where necessary in coordination with the Senior Manager of Reconciliation & Account Investigation.
    • Prepare financial vouchers for reconciliation as per the laid procedures.
  • Support International Branches and Subsidiaries
  • Learning & Knowledge:
    • Possess understanding of banking operations, accounting, control and reconciliation tools, techniques and methods.
    • Identify related areas for professional development of self and direct reports, and act to enhance professional development.
    • Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard important and sensitive information.
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, University graduate preferred with a major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study).
