Job Summary

The incumbent will perform all balance sheet management activities in accordance with the Group's strategy, risk appetite, regulatory requirements and policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities Shareholder & Financial
  • Complies with approved budgets, policies and procedures in relation to balance sheet management operations.
  • Implements KPIs and best practices for the Senior Manager, Balance Sheet Management role.
  • Promotes cost consciousness and efficiency, enhancing productivity to minimize cost, avoid waste and optimize benefits for the bank.
  • Acts within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
Customer (Internal & External)
  • Assists in building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with all related units to achieve balance sheet management goals.
  • Provides timely and accurate information to external and internal auditors, the Compliance function and Group Risk.
  • Assists customers with queries on the bank's products and seeks solutions to their requests.
  • Maintains activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to improve turnaround time.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with related departments to achieve group objectives.
Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory)
  • Performs activities in accordance with the set strategies.
  • Complies with departmental policies and procedures for buying/selling deals, maintaining and collating MIS on profitability and revenue, observing compliance with limits approved by the Board or its delegated authorities.
  • Follows up on the timely processing of transactions in coordination with Treasury Operations.
  • Prepares reports under the direct supervision of the SVP, Balance Sheet Management.
  • Monitors gap positions within delegated authority under the guidance of the SVP.
  • Is involved in structuring balance sheet management products when deemed necessary by the SVP, Treasury Structured Products and Derivatives.
Learning & Knowledge
  • Proactively identifies areas for professional development and undertakes development activities.
  • Seeks opportunities to remain current with all developments in the professional field.
Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities
  • Complies with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements, including Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
  • Understands and effectively performs duties under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify, monitor, manage and report risks.
  • Ensures systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with the Conduct Risk policy.
  • Supports the framework of RCSA, KRI, incident reporting and remediation in line with Operational Risk Management requirements.
  • Maintains appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification for the role.
  • Completes all mandatory training provided by the bank and maintains required competency levels.
  • Attends mandatory internal and external seminars as instructed by the bank.
Other
  • Ensures high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
  • Maintains utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information, providing such information on a need-to-know basis only to senior management, audit and compliance functions, and relevant regulators.
  • Maintains high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and strengthen its market leadership position.
  • Performs all other ad-hoc duties or activities related to QNB as requested by management.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in an active dealing room, preferably in the Gulf.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic (preferable).
  • Good knowledge of a range of derivatives and interest rate products.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of hedging techniques in local currencies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of local laws, regulations and practices.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under market pressures while maintaining professionalism.
