Financial Risk Director

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Risk Director to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the organization's financial risk management framework. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating financial risks while supporting sustainable growth and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the organization's financial risk management strategy, policies, and frameworks.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and report on key financial risks, including market, credit, liquidity, investment, and counter party risks.
• Establish and maintain effective financial risk governance and internal control frameworks.
• Provide strategic advice to executive management and relevant committees on risk exposure and mitigation measures.
• Lead risk assessments for investments, major projects, and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor economic, financial, and regulatory developments and evaluate their potential impact on the organization.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to strengthen risk awareness and embed risk management practices across the organization.
• Oversee the preparation of risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing financial risk management team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Master's degree and/or professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, PRM, or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in financial risk management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  .
• Strong knowledge of financial risk management principles, governance frameworks, and internal controls.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, risk modeling, investment risk assessment, and strategic risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is preferred.
