Provide support in implementing AML/CFT monitoring strategy to ensure that the Company remains compliant and all relevant functions of the Company are in line with regulatory guidelines.
-Assist in maintaining relevant policies and procedures in order to ensure they are up-to-date, reflecting current working practices and relevant regulatory requirements.
-Evaluate how properly the internal procedures and controls regarding laws and instructions are applied, and discover any shortage in the policies and procedures and formulate suggestions to improve it.
-Maintain awareness of regulatory changes affecting the business and help making any changes in order for the Company to remain compliant.
Compliance Services:-Understand the scope and objectives of AML/CFT requirements and provide support on regulatory matters. Work closely with the MLRO on any compliance issues that may arise.
-Acting as a central point of contact between the licensed party, and the FIU, the regulator and other state concerned authorities in relation to AML and CFT issues.
-Support and co-ordinate management focus on the money laundering risk in individual business areas.
-Provide assistance in developing and maintaining an effective anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing compliance culture.
-Provide support in developing and maintaining an effective money laundering risk-based approach and the risk assessment of the firm's customers, products and services.
-Ensure that staff comply with the stated policy and therefore monitoring operations and development of the policy to this end.
-Ensure that all relevant staff are adequately trained in money laundering and terrorist finance prevention
-Act as an Approved Person undertaking Controlled Function SMF
17 for the prevention of money laundering.
-Provide support in receiving, investigating and assessing internal suspicious transactions reports.
-Responding promptly to any request for information by FIU, QFMA and other state concerned authorities in relation to AML and CFT issues.
Reporting:-Ensure that all assigned reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet the Company's requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Committees and Meetings :-Represents the function and actively contributes in various committees/meetings (internal and external) as applicable and per authority levels in order to ensure relevant matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
Related Assignments:Undertake any other duties of similar nature that are related to the department and are within the expertise and skills of the jobholder.
Minimum Qualifications:-University degree caliber, preferably Master's degree in Law, Economics or Political Science.
-Minimum 02 - 04 years' experience of Compliance. Specialist areas must include amongst others Market Abuser, AML/CFT and regulatory risk analysis
Skills & Knowledge:-Good knowledge of Compliance & AML regulatory issues, and QCB & QFMA's guidelines.
-Have the credibility and influence to actively engage senior stakeholders across all departments within the Company.
-Ability to maintain relevant current knowledge and technical skills in constantly changing environment both internally and externally e.g. regulatory, policies, procedures and standards.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, to interact effectively and professionally with Committees and Senior Management
