Director of Finance

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Director of Finance to lead our finance function at Corinthia Gewan Island Doha, Qatar, and play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategy. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance, providing strategic direction, ensuring robust governance and regulatory compliance, and delivering commercial insight to support the organisation's continued growth and success.

• Provide strategic financial leadership and partner with the Leadership Team to support the company's long-term objectives.
• Lead and manage all finance operations, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and business performance analyses.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, controls, and procedures that support effective governance and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, tax, and financial reporting requirements.
• Oversee internal and external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial modelling and commercial insights to support business decisions.
• Analyse business performance, financial trends, costs, revenues, and investment opportunities to drive sustainable growth.
• Oversee treasury activities, funding requirements, and working capital to ensure effective cash flow management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing finance systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Carry out any other duties that are reasonably required to support the effective operation of the Finance function.

• Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and customer requirements applicable to the role.
• Be aware of the environmental aspects, occupational hazards, and associated risks within the work environment, taking appropriate action to minimise risk.
• Follow approved operating procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of QHSE standards and practices.
• Support the achievement of the organisation's QHSE objectives and targets.
• Be familiar with emergency preparedness and response procedures.
• Adhere to the Company's security requirements and promote a workplace that is free from sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, and gender-based violence.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
• MBA and/or a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Extensive senior finance leadership experience, preferably within the hospitality sector or a multi-site international organisation.
• Proven experience leading finance teams and managing complex financial operations.
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and financial planning & analysis.
• Experience working with external auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and support strategic business decisions.
• Strong commercial and strategic business acumen.
