We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Steward to join our team in Swissotel Corniche Park Towers Doha. As the leader of our stewarding department you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness sanitation and operational efficiency in our kitchen and food service areas.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily stewarding operations and supervise the stewarding staff
- Ensure compliance with health safety and hygiene standards throughout all kitchen and backofhouse areas
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies chemicals and kitchen equipment
- Coordinate with culinary and F&B departments to support kitchen and event operations
- Implement and monitor HACCP procedures and safety protocols
- Train schedule and mentor stewarding personnel to maintain high service standards
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and organization
- Manage waste disposal and recycling in compliance with local regulations
- Work closely with kitchen and frontofhouse management to ensure cohesive service and guest satisfaction
- Maintain and troubleshoot dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment
- Foster a positive respectful and high performance work culture within the stewarding team
- 35 years of experience in a supervisory role in stewarding preferably in a 5star hotel or resort
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Indepth knowledge of sanitation hygiene practices and food safety regulations
- Proficiency in managing schedules inventory and cleaning protocols
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and dishwashing machinery
- Excellent communication skills and basic computer literacy
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in a hospitality setting
- Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction
