Assistant In Room Dining Manager

Responsibilities

As an In Room Dining team member at Mandarin Oriental Doha , you will understand and disseminate all corporate and hotel policies, including the MOHG Code of Conduct, and support the hotel’s Human Resources Strategic Policy. You will act as a hotel ambassador and uphold the highest standards of service, safety, and customer privacy.

• Safeguard stored information and personal data about guests, customers, or colleagues, and comply with all privacy policies.
• Ensure appropriate use of hotel network, computers and internet services and prohibit use of the network for gambling, chatrooms, pornographic material, or any other inappropriate content.
• Adhere to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental policies and the MOHG Social Media Policy.
• Maintain zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination of any form: gender, disability, physical or medical condition, race, colour, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, sexual orientation, marital status or any other reason.
• Support the outlet manager in all operational and administrative aspects of In Room Dining, including order‑taking, trolley set‑up, delivery of room‑service orders, and supervising the outlet in the manager’s absence.
• Enforce operational standards, SOP and quality measures at all times and ensure synergy between In Room Dining and other F&B outlets and Rooms Division departments.
• Coordinate the placement of guest amenities, manage minibar operation in close coordination with Front Office and Housekeeping, and handle recipes and ingredient delivery for apartments.
• Provide catering services in guest rooms, suites and apartments in liaison with the banqueting operations department.
• Supervise side‑duty schedules for all positions and enforce compliance with training, cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Conduct walk‑throughs with Engineering and Housekeeping to maintain an immaculate environment for In Room Dining, floor pantries, storage areas and equipment.
• Identify areas for improvement in service and food & beverage quality by reviewing audit reports, guest comment cards and incident reports, and share observations with the outlet manager.
• Maintain a good relationship and steady communication with the Chefde Cuisine to ensure efficient food flow and best possible presentation in rooms.
• Update menu descriptions, ensure correct spelling, and display them in the In Room Dining area.
• Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing and new ideas, and forward them to the outlet manager.
• Plan and execute special promotional activities and festive‑season events for the outlet.
• Follow Jardine accounting requirements for F&B outlets, monitor the monthly P&L and carry out detailed financial analysis.
• Maintain accuracy of all IG point‑of‑sales setups.
• Attend all required meetings, lead and support outlet colleagues, and enforce the grooming and appearance standards of Mandarin Oriental Doha .
• Prepare weekly rosters, support training of order takers, and uphold upselling skills.
• Prepare counselling and disciplinary action in accordance with company procedures.
• Encourage proactive, efficient and effective inter‑departmental communication to promote teamwork.
• Work closely with Kitchen, Front Office and Housekeeping to assure efficiency for all food & beverage matters.
• Provide personal monitoring and follow‑through on VIP guest requirements and ensure customer satisfaction in line with the MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences, MOQA pillars and service standards.
• Drive and motivate the team to create WOW moments and handle all guest complaints effectively.
