Job Summary
The Laundry Valet Sorter is responsible for providing efficient, timely, and professional laundry and valet services to guests while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The role ensures the accurate collection, sorting, processing, and delivery of guest laundry while supporting the overall operations of the laundry department in accordance with hotel standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Collect guest laundry and dry‑cleaning bags from guest rooms in a timely and professional manner.
- Verify that each laundry bag contains a completed laundry list with the guest’s name, room number, and the correct number of items.
- Count and verify all laundry and dry‑cleaning items against the guest’s laundry list before processing.
- Record laundry collection and delivery times, noting any special instructions such as Do Not Disturb (DND) rooms or guest requests.
- Immediately report and hand over any valuables or personal items found in guests’ clothing to the designated supervisor following hotel procedures.
- Inspect garments for stains, damage, missing buttons, tears, or other defects before processing and report any discrepancies.
- Coordinate the collection and delivery of outsourced guest laundry and dry‑cleaning services.
- Assist the Laundry Marker in identifying, tagging, and recording garments when required.
- Deliver all guest laundry accurately, courteously, and within the promised turnaround time or the guest’s requested delivery schedule.
- Ensure hanging garments are placed neatly in the guest room wardrobe and folded items are presented according to hotel standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading washing machines and dryers, and sort clean laundry for further processing or delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene of the laundry, sorting, and valet areas at all times.
- Support linen and uniform inventories and participate in periodic stock counts as assigned.
- Follow established laundry handling procedures to minimize garment damage and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Operate equipment safely and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly.
- Comply with all hotel policies, standard operating procedures, and departmental guidelines.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations to protect guests, colleagues, and the environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service at all times.
The incumbent of the role will be required to demonstrate the fundamentals of the company’s Count on Me Service culture to be responsive, respectful, and deliver a great experience.

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not always required.
Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or hospitality is an advantage.
Basic understanding of garment care, fabric types, and laundry procedures.
