We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our dynamic team in Doha, Qatar. As a key player in our management consulting firm, you will be responsible for supporting the payroll department in processing employee compensation accurately and timely. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including data entry, payroll processing, and compliance with local labor laws.

You will work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure that all payroll-related activities align with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in payroll status.
  • Verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies in employee hours worked.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and software.
  • Support the HR department in preparing and generating reports related to payroll and employee statistics.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax-related documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll processes and systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive payroll information at all times.
  • Preferred Candidate
  • Detail-oriented individual with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency in payroll processing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset to address payroll discrepancies.
  • Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of local labor laws and payroll regulations in Qatar is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing or HR functions is an advantage.
  • Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new payroll systems and processes as needed.
  • Proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development in payroll management.
