Legal Counsel

Overview

Responsible for all commercial and legal support, assessing risk across all functions and providing thoughtful advice on commercial, corporate and employment related matters.

• Build a reputation as a reliable source of commercial and legal support, assessing risk across all areas of the business with a focus on commercial, corporate and employment related matters.
• Take an active role in sales opportunities, managing contract negotiations with external clients in line with business pricing and risk standards, attending client meetings, and proactively supporting the conclusion of deals.
• Provide relevant and succinct advice to internal stakeholders on client contract interpretation and associated commercial risks.
• Champion contracts management system Luminance, committing to its full functionality and integration to the business.
• Defend company position in contractual disputes such as breach of contract, non-payment, termination.
• Inform the Commercial & Legal Manager of material matters & obtaining final sign-off and approvals from the Commercial and Legal Director, as appropriate.

• Experience of working in-house, or in private practice if the firm experience is relevant.
• Qualified legal professional with PQE minimum 5 + years.
• Degree required from an accredited law school; or more than 5+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with wide variety of stakeholders verbally and in writing.
