We have partnered exclusively with an early stage, global technology investor who are seeking to grow a centralised shared services office in Doha, Qatar.
Their first need is a General Counsel, with a team to be built out underneath them.
The role will best suit an experienced, but not overly senior (10-15 PQE is a guideline) lawyer, perhaps one who is stepping into their first GC role, after a period in either private practice, or being 2ic in-house.
So why this role in particular?- Interesting growth plans – the client is doing very well and this is the chance to join them at an important point.
- Broad spread of international work – whilst their remit is technology funds and investments, the job remit will be far wider.
- Clean slate – be their first proper GC and craft the roadmap for the future.
- Advising on transactions and investments across funds, private equity, M&A, and VC.
- Handling general commercial issues on a day to day basis.
- Have international oversight across investments and investment partners worldwide.
- 10+ PQE from a common or civil law jurisdiction (EU lawyers very much encouraged).
- Broad spread of corporate and commercial work, ideally across investment or technology platforms.
- Previous Middle East experience is not needed and overseas applications are welcome, especially from western Europe.
