Workshop Controller - Automotive

Overview

A leading provider of aerial work platforms (AWPs) and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) in the Middle East and Asia is seeking a skilled Workshop Controller. The controller role is busy and pressurized, handling the distribution of work to technicians, liaising with the Service Department, and ensuring all incoming work is planned, scheduled, and executed efficiently. The controller also manages time and resources, assigns technicians to maximize productivity, and oversees performance management and team development.

• Assist management in implementing and maintaining effective processes to achieve high customer satisfaction.
• Develop parameters for job activities / “Standard Repair / Operating Time” for jobs to be done.
• Distribute and control work to technicians to maximize quality and overall efficiency.
• Lead, motivate and develop the team to reach daily objectives.
• Maintain strong relationships with the parts department to maximize parts availability.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all job card write-ups and incident reports for each repair, including job completion status.
• Maintain a safe working environment in line with the Company’s HSE policy and uphold high housekeeping and appearance standards.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards expected in all company positions.

• Degree or diploma in engineering, operations or workflow management.
• Preferably experience working within a commercial vehicle workshop.
• Minimum of three years experience in the same field.
• A hands‑on leader with proven people‑management background and extensive knowledge of workshop operations and business administration, and strong computer literacy.
• Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken (additional languages an asset).
• Energetic, self‑motivated, forward‑thinking team player with stable work history and excellent communication skills.
• Valid Qatar driving license.
