Fire & Rescue Operations Supervisor

General Responsibilities
- Attend and respond to all airport emergencies at Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Doha International Airport (DIA)
- Attend department‑related Health & Safety meetings.
- Act as Operations Lead and attend ongoing business meetings with HIA Safety in the absence of the Operations Supervisor.
- Ensure the required Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Category (CAT) protection level is maintained during shift hours, in compliance with QCAR 006 and TRA instructions.
- Supervise and control staff leave to ensure minimum manpower availability required for compliance at both airports.
- Ensure availability and readiness of firefighting and breathing apparatus and rescue equipment.
- Ensure all Fire Department staff assigned to vehicles are certified and qualified to operate their designated vehicles.
- Ensure Airside Vehicle Operator Permits (AVOP) for all department personnel are valid and up to date.
- Ensure all employees are medically fit to perform their duties in compliance with QCAR 006.
- Inform the Operations Manager of any deficiencies or shortcomings in section performance.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the competent authority (DFRD) or the Operations Manager.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and practices meeting and exceeding regulatory and legal requirements.
- Provide guidance and advice to staff regarding Health & Safety legislation and organizational policies.
- Conduct investigations into industrial accidents, injuries, and near‑miss incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure the development, review and auditing of a comprehensive Health & Safety Policy including risk assessments for all firefighting tasks, excluding training.
- Perform manual handling risk assessments, working‑at‑height risk assessments, risk assessments for the operation of all firefighting equipment and COSHH assessments and any other required evaluations.
- Perform watch duties during periods of severe manpower shortage.
- Perform Senior Officer duties in accordance with the approved shift roster.
- Act as Incident Commander / Person‑in‑Charge in the absence of the Senior Officer.
- Coordinate with the Training Department to ensure all crew members attend mandatory training courses in accordance with the Red Kite system.
- Deliver and conduct theoretical and practical tactical firefighting training as well as airport familiarization tours for all watches to enhance individual skills, knowledge and operational readiness.
- Monitor and follow up on response time tests on a monthly basis.
- Record all conducted training courses in the Red Kite system.
- Perform any other duties requested by the Operations Manager in support of the Training Team.
- Airport Fire Fighting Services Operations Category: CAT 10.
- Academic qualification:
Not required. - Proficiency in the English language in accordance with QCAR 006 (as amended), ADR OPS B 024, and Hamad International Airport (HIA) / Doha International Airport (DIA) Manuals.
- Communication Certificate issued by the Airport Operating Authority.
- Required specialized training:
Firefighter Course, Crew Leader Course, Manager Course, Supervisor Course (if available).
