Job Purpose
Manage business development activities in Qatar, as well in the EMEA, Americas and APAC regions, assessing business opportunities relating to existing and new potential power/water assets. Manage business activities and relationships with contractors, developers, business partners and other agencies involved in QEWC projects and programs.
Key AccountabilitiesThis role supervises 5 direct reports within a total of 11 staff. It covers multiple functions across construction, business development, strategy, leadership, budgeting, policies, change management and reporting.
Construction ProjectsCoordinate and supervise all construction activities at plant sites in collaboration with the Head of Construction, ensuring projects are completed according to design specifications, on time and within budget. Update the Chief Business Development Officer weekly on construction progress, strategic plans, technical analysis and financial impact/outcome. Manage contractual and technical meetings with contractors, developers, purchasers and other agencies. Review EPC contractors’ weekly and monthly progress reports and highlight major issues.
BusinessDevelopment
Lead and support business trend analysis in EMEA, Americas, and APAC markets by reviewing detailed quantitative and qualitative research. Identify new investment opportunities and ventures at targeted locations aligned with QEWC’s overall growth strategy. Understand external & internal market factors and capture them in the business planning process. Build strong relationships with market research firms, consultants, and advisors. Present technical feasibility analysis for prospective opportunities and coordinate with M&A and finance teams on comprehensive studies.
StrategyDevelopment and Implementation
Develop and direct the implementation of the department strategy, ensuring alignment with divisional strategy, QEWC’s vision, mission and corporate objectives. Provide subject‑matter expertise and counsel to leadership on related areas, facilitating the achievement of overall strategy.
LeadershipManage achievement of departmental objectives through effective leadership, setting individual objectives, managing performance, and motivating the team. Lead talent development initiatives in collaboration with discipline experts to ensure talent availability.
Budgeting and Financial PerformanceOversee consolidation and recommendation of the department budget, monitoring financial performance versus budget to identify cost reductions or performance improvements.
Policies, Systems, Processes & ProceduresDevelop and lead the implementation of policies, systems, processes, and procedures covering all areas of the function, ensuring compliance with procedural/legislative requirements and quality standards.
Change ManagementLead continuous improvement of department systems, processes, and practices in response to global standards and business environment changes.
ReportingEnsure all department reports are prepared timely and accurately, meeting QEWC requirements, policies and quality standards.

Chief Business Development Officer, Mergers & Acquisitions Manager, Facility E Project Manager, Head of Construction, Business Dev. Regional Managers (EMEA, Americas, APAC), Business Development Leader, Function Heads, Relevant Committees. - External:
Vendors, suppliers, service providers, business partners, consultants and advisors.
Participate in the execution of QEWC’s long‑term business strategy, contributing to strategic goals and objectives. Provide senior leadership with guidance to assimilate cutting‑edge developments and innovations into business/operational strategies. Operate under mandates authorized by the Chief Business Development Officer, ensuring oversight, reporting, accountability and transparency. Engage in critical decision‑making processes for the department.
Qualifications, Experience & SkillsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline from a reputable university; preference for candidates holding an MBA.
