Why This RoleYou are responsible for leading the estimation and proposal team for marine and ship‑repair projects, overseeing competitive commercial submissions and successful bid outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for ship repair, conversion, offshore, and marine projects
- Reviewing customer enquiries, specifications, drawings, and scope of work to develop accurate cost estimates and bid strategies
- Coordinating with Production, Engineering, Procurement, Planning, and Commercial teams to obtain technical inputs and pricing information
- Leading bid clarification meetings and supporting contract negotiations with customers
- Developing labour, material, subcontractor, and equipment cost estimates while identifying project risks and opportunities
- Monitoring market trends, supplier pricing, and competitor activity to ensure commercially competitive proposals
- Supporting business development initiatives by identifying opportunities and contributing to customer engagement activities

Ideally you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, or a related discipline
- Total of 8+ years of experience in ship repair or shipbuilding estimation and proposal management
- Strong understanding of vessel repair methodologies, dry docking, conversions, and marine operations
- Experience preparing technical and commercial bids for shipyards or marine engineering organisations
- Proficiency in estimating software, Primavera P6, MS Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, stakeholder management, and attention to detail
