Job Summary
The Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for a portfolio of large-scale construction and real estate developments, including high-rise towers, luxury hotels, mixed-use developments, commercial assets, and landmark projects. The role is responsible for driving project delivery, business growth, operational excellence, profitability, and stakeholder satisfaction while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role aligns with responsibilities found in internal Executive Director profiles focused on large-scale capital project execution and organisational leadership.
- Develop and execute business strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Lead and oversee a portfolio of high-rise, hospitality, residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Support business expansion, investment opportunities, and market growth initiatives across the Middle East.
- Drive organisational performance, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
- Provide executive oversight for all phases of project delivery from concept and design through construction and handover.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within approved budgets, and in compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor project performance, risk exposure, and financial objectives.
- Oversee master planning, design management, procurement, construction, commissioning, and stakeholder coordination.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial governance for major developments.
- Review and approve key contracts, procurement strategies, and commercial agreements.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and maximise project profitability.
- Ensure strong financial controls and reporting mechanisms are maintained.
- Build and maintain relationships with investors, clients, government authorities, consultants, contractors, and operators.
- Represent the organisation in executive meetings, negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure effective communication and alignment between all project stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams across project, commercial, technical, and operational functions.
- Establish strong governance frameworks, project controls, and reporting systems.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, integrity, and accountability.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related discipline.
- Master's Degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, MRICS, CIOB, UPDA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Minimum 20+ years of experience within construction, real estate development, or infrastructure sectors.
- Minimum 10 years in a senior leadership role (Executive Director, Operations Director, Development Director, Project Director, COO, or equivalent).
- Proven experience delivering mega projects including:
- High-Rise Towers
- Luxury Hotels & Hospitality Developments
- Mixed-Use Developments
- Commercial & Residential Complexes
- Large-Scale GCC Projects
- Strong Middle East/GCC experience is mandatory.
