Key Accounts Executive — Modern Trade / Supermarkets
Location:
Doha, DAW, Qatar. Full‑time on‑site position.
We are an established distributor of premium consumer goods expanding across Qatar’s modern trade/supermarket channel. We need a Key Accounts Executive to own the retail relationships from listing to growth.
Key Responsibilities- Account ownership:
Manage relationships with assigned supermarket and hypermarket chains from listing through ongoing performance, acting as the primary commercial contact. - Range & shelf planning:
Build product ranges and planograms that fit each retailer’s customer profile, category space, and velocity requirements. - Negotiation:
Handle listing terms, rebates, promotional calendars, secondary placement, and end‑cap visibility with retailer buying teams. - Forecasting & replenishment:
Forecast demand, manage orders, and ensure consistent stock availability while avoiding overstock and near‑expiry risk. - Sell‑through performance:
Track sales data Store by Store, identify underperformance early, and act on it — adjusting range, pricing support, or promotions as needed. - Promotional execution:
Plan and deliver promotions that work within each retailer’s mechanics and margin structures, and measure their return. - Reporting:
Provide clear, regular reporting on account performance, opportunities, and risks, with proposed actions rather than problems alone.
- 2–4 years of modern trade experience in supermarket or hypermarket retail operations, ideally as a category executive, range/merchandising executive, or supplier‑side key accounts role dealing directly with major chains.
- Retailer thinking:
Understand how a buyer makes decisions, procurement & shelf‑space allocation, and what a retailer needs to see before saying yes. - Category & velocity literacy:
Comfortable reading sell‑through and till data, working with planograms, and understanding FMCG/grocery dynamics. - Data confidence:
Solid with Excel and able to turn sales numbers into decisions and forecasts. - Self‑sufficiency:
Own a portfolio and run it independently, escalating only when genuinely required. - Communication:
Professional and credible in buyer meetings. - Fluent in English;
Arabic a strong advantage.
The right person can walk into a buyer meeting, read the numbers, and know what to ask for. They think like a retailer rather than a salesperson, understand that shelf space is earned through performance, and can be trusted to manage a chain relationship without daily check‑ins.
Benefits & Compensation- Competitive salary in line with experience: QAR5,000.00 – QAR8,000.00 per month.
