The Role:
The Retail Sales Representative Showroom is responsible for building rapport and credibility with customers to assist them in purchasing the company’s products while maintaining high merchandising standards and stock availability. The role requires exceeding sales targets and expectations, being an expert on the product range, staying informed about market trends, and continually enhancing store standards to represent the IKEA brand effectively.
Success in this role relies on proactive sales strategies, operational excellence, and superior customer service.
- Promote sales by identifying opportunities, offering solutions, and suggesting add-ons to achieve sales targets.
- Suggest improvements to sales processes and address slow-moving or non-selling items with actions.
- Maintain a full display of products using company merchandising methods.
- Be an expert on the product range within the Home Furnishing Business (HFB).
- Stay informed about local market developments and customer feedback.
- Provide updates to the Sales Manager on customer issues and gaps in product range.
- Conduct daily inspections to review product positioning, price labels, and communication media.
- Review stock levels daily and recommend orders to the Shopkeeper.
- Coordinate with Procurement Executive regarding stock information.
- Build relationships with customers to establish trust and confidence.
- Determine customer needs and prepare pro forma invoices.
- Maintain customer contact and advise on new or interesting items.
- Follow up on quotations to convert them into actual sales.

The Role:
- Secondary education is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar retail sales role.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong customer focus and sales-driven approach.
