Education City Golf Club is a premier golfing destination situated in the heart of Doha, Qatar. Officially opened in 2019 under the patronage of Qatar Foundation, the club was designed by the renowned Spanish golfer José María Olazábal, a two-time Masters Tournament winner. This marks Olazábal's first golf course design in the Middle East, and he has expressed that the project is "unlike any other" due to its unique setting within Education City and its integration with the surrounding academic and cultural institutions.
Aboutthe Role
The Sales Manager assigned at ECGC is responsible for driving revenue growth across all commercial streams of the club, including memberships, sponsor ships, venue hire, team building, corporate events, academy programs, hotel and tourism partnerships, meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE). The role leads the development and execution of sales strategies to grow the club's corporate and individual client base, while maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing clients and partners.
The Sales Manager operates as the primary commercial interface between ECGC and corporate market, with direct accountability for pipeline development, activity targets, and revenue performance.
- Promote and represent the services and facilities of ECGC on sales calls, at trade shows, conferences, networking events, and industry functions.
- Drive, develop, and maintain relationships with corporate clients, individual prospects, tour operators, hotel partners, and key stakeholders to generate new and repeat business.
- Foster strategic partnerships with Qatar Foundation Members and corporate clients.
- Submit client quotations, general proposals and bid documents.
- Conversion of proposals and bids into confirmed signed business.
- Develop and execute a structured sales plan covering all revenue streams.
- Conduct site tours and presentations for prospective clients.
- Identify and pursue sponsorship opportunities for ECGC tournaments, events, and programs, preparing formal proposals with defined deliverables and commercial terms.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare monthly sales reports and performance updates for Business Development Manager and ECGC management
- Assist the Business Development Manager with the preparation of the annual Business Plan and Budget for the Department.
- Promote and develop Sponsorship for Education City Golf Club to support membership and brand awareness.
- Promote and develop relationships with the Hotel and Tourism sector to drive business to the facility through long-term partnerships and support.
- Support the membership department to drive new memberships to the club and lesson opportunities and development.
- Develop effective relationships with other department team members and Centre staff through appropriate communication and a positive attitude.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, or Hospitality Management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong relationship-building and account management abilities.
- In-depth industry knowledge and exposure.
- Proven relationships, database and network of industry contacts.
