The Pipe Fitter Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of pipe fitters and associated workers involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems. This role ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead a team of pipe fitters, welders, and helpers on-site.
- Plan daily work schedules based on project timelines and resources.
- Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs to guide pipe fitting work.
- Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with other supervisors (e.g., civil, electrical) to avoid clashes and ensure workflow continuity.
- Ensure correct materials and tools are available for scheduled work.
- Monitor and enforce safety procedures and company policies.
- Train and mentor team members in proper pipe fitting techniques and safety practices.
- Maintain daily reports, timesheets, and progress records.
- Participate in site meetings and communicate with engineers and project managers.
- Education: High school diploma or technical certification in pipe fitting or mechanical systems.
- Experience: Minimum 57 years of experience in industrial or commercial piping, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical
Skills: - Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and installation methods
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with welding, threading, grooving, and testing procedures
