Position Overview
Aircraft Mechanic GSE roles in Doha, Qatar support Qatar Airways ground operations by ensuring all ground support equipment is maintained to the highest safety, reliability, and compliance standards. - Perform scheduled daily, monthly, and annual inspections on ground support and aircraft equipment to ensure operational readiness
- Carry out periodic and corrective maintenance in accordance with manufacturer maintenance manuals and Part 145 aircraft equipment workshop procedures
- Operate aircraft equipment and tooling safely to complete assigned maintenance tasks and maintain serviceability
- Address and resolve maintenance tasks escalated by assistant mechanics in line with approved technical procedures
- Inspect equipment components for cracks, leaks, or defects and carry out necessary repairs
- Escalate major repair requirements to the GSE Shift Leader following established maintenance protocols
- Assemble, install, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and structural components using appropriate tools
- Interpret technical manuals and specifications to determine repair methods and feasibility
- Implement technical solutions for base and line maintenance equipment issues
- Ensure all completed maintenance tasks are signed off in accordance with CMM and approved technical instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation and inventory records within TRAX ERP after task completion
- High school qualification, diploma, or vocational certification in aircraft maintenance or equivalent aeronautical engineering qualification
- Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance or job‑related experience, including apprenticeship
- Trade or vocational qualification in aircraft maintenance or equivalent engineering degree
- Experience with maintenance and operation of wide body aircraft docking systems is an advantage
- Good understanding of Part 145 aircraft equipment maintenance requirements
- Ability to work independently within defined technical scopes
- Hands‑on experience repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and understand technical documents related to ground support equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with TRAX ERP for GSE inventory and documentation
- Valid driving license is preferred
