Rig Mechanic

Role Description

The Rig Mechanic role at Jobs Advertise is a full-time, on-site position based in Doha. The Rig Mechanic is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on drilling rigs and associated heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting machinery, diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and troubleshooting equipment failures under varying field conditions. The role also involves collaborating with rig crews, following safety procedures and regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports.

The Rig Mechanic supports operational continuity by responding promptly to breakdowns and contributing to equipment reliability and performance.

• Strong knowledge of drilling operations and rig systems, with practical experience in drilling environments.
• Hands‑on expertise working with heavy equipment, including operation, inspection, and mechanical servicing.
• Proficiency in maintenance and repair activities, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues effectively.
• BOSIET or equivalent offshore/rig safety certification, with a solid understanding of industry safety standards and procedures.
• Relevant technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent experience in mechanical, industrial, or petroleum‑related fields.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics, use diagnostic tools, and complete clear maintenance documentation.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in demanding on‑site conditions and rotational shifts.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
