The Pipes CCTV Inspector / Sewer Camera Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. The role involves operating CCTV inspection cameras and related equipment to assess the condition of sewer and pipeline systems, capturing clear video footage, and documenting defects, blockages, and structural issues. Daily tasks include setting up and checking inspection equipment, performing pipeline entry and exit procedures, monitoring live feeds, and recording inspection data in line with company standards and client requirements.
The role also includes preparing inspection reports, coordinating with site supervisors and engineering teams, and adhering to safety protocols and quality guidelines during all inspection activities. The inspector may assist in planning repair or rehabilitation work by providing accurate technical information from the CCTV surveys.
- Technical knowledge and practical experience in corrosion and coatings related to pipelines, with the ability to identify and document degradation or protective coating failures.
- Skills in inspection and welding inspection, including recognizing weld defects and verifying compliance with relevant standards and project specifications.
- Understanding of pipeline construction processes, including installation, jointing, testing, and rehabilitation of pressure and gravity pipelines.
- Experience operating CCTV pipeline inspection systems or similar sewer camera equipment, including set up, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to interpret technical drawings and pipeline layouts, and capability to produce clear, concise inspection reports.
- Commitment to safety practices, familiarity with confined space and site safety procedures, and willingness to work in field conditions.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in civil, mechanical, or pipeline engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in pipeline inspection or construction.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with technicians, engineers, and supervisors in a multicultural work environment.
