Generator Technician at NATIONAL ELECTRICITY & WATER CONSTRUCTIONS WLL in Doha, DAW, QA.

Full-Time | Shift-Based NEWCON is seeking an experienced Generator Technician to support the operation and maintenance of diesel generator systems for our ongoing utility and facilities maintenance projects.
- Operate, inspect, test and maintain diesel generator sets.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Troubleshoot engine, alternator, battery, fuel, cooling and control-system faults.
- Maintain AMF panels, ATS systems, manual changeover systems and associated LV equipment.
- Record generator running hours, load, voltage, current, frequency, fuel level, oil pressure, temperature and alarms.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and restore equipment safely and promptly.
- Maintain daily inspection logs, maintenance records and shift-handover reports.
- Follow approved HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements and lockout/tagout practices.
- Support load-bank testing, commissioning, shutdowns and client inspections.
- ITI, vocational certificate or diploma in Diesel Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on generator maintenance experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Gulf experience preferred.
- Experience with standby and prime-power generators, AMF/ATS panels, batteries and control systems.
- Knowledge of generator brands such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Perkins, MTU, Volvo Penta, FG Wilson or equivalent.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals and generator alarm codes.
- Willingness to work general, evening or night shifts and attend emergency calls.
- Good English communication and basic digital reporting skills.
- Valid Qatar driving licence will be an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in facilities management, substations, infrastructure projects or 24-hour critical-power operations will be preferred.
