A2:Role Purpose
The Equipment & Workshop Division Engineer is responsible for planning, directing, managing, and controlling all maintenance, repair, and operational activities within the central garage and workshop. The role ensures the maximum availability, reliability, and safe operation of all company vehicles, heavy equipment, generators, compressors, and mechanical assets. The position supports construction project operations by minimizing downtime, optimizing workshop resource utilization, controlling maintenance costs, and ensuring strict compliance with company procedures, QCS standards, and HSE regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and control all Equipment & Workshop Division operations, garage workflows, and technical maintenance activities.
- Oversee and ensure technical reliability for all company assets, including light/heavy vehicles, machinery, generators, air compressors, and specialized workshop equipment.
- Have the capability to perform comprehensive comparisons of workshop data, including technical specifications, supplier spare parts quotations, maintenance cost histories, and equipment breakdown metrics, to enable data-driven procurement and operational decisions.
- Supervise, evaluate, and mentor the Workshop Supervisor, Logistics Coordinator, mechanics, electricians, welders, and auxiliary garage staff.
- Establish and enforce comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and corrective repair workflows to minimize asset downtime on construction sites.
- Coordinate asset allocation including the transfer, deployment, mobilization, and demobilization of equipment between projects in alignment with the Logistics Manager.
- Review and authorize workshop spare parts, lubricants, consumables, and raw material procurement requests prior to submission.
- Manage the workshop budget, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as operational costs, fuel usage, mechanic productivity, and asset utilization.
- Ensure all commercial vehicles and heavy machinery maintain valid statutory registrations, third-party technical certifications, insurance, and regulatory approvals.
- Enforce strong stock control and inventory accuracy for mechanical parts, specialized garage tools, and equipment assets.
- Investigate mechanical failures, repeated equipment breakdowns, accidents, or asset damage to diagnose root causes and implement engineering solutions.
- Maintain rigorous documentation workflows, overseeing service histories, job cards, maintenance logs, and vehicle inspection checklists.
- Ensure strict compliance with company HSE policies, workshop safety procedures, hazardous waste disposal regulations, and proper garage housekeeping.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports detailing equipment breakdown status, workshop activities, repair expenses, and resource availability for the Logistics Manager.
Deep technical knowledge of diesel/gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, heavy construction machinery, and power generators. Comprehensive understanding of preventive maintenance strategies, garage operations, and mechanical diagnostic tools. Familiarity with inventory management systems, parts procurement, and fleet tracking metrics. Solid understanding of international standards, workshop protocols, and industrial common & best practices. Understanding of HSE workshop protocols.
