We are seeking an experienced BMU Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of Building Maintenance Units (BMUs) and suspended access equipment. The role will involve inspection, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems while ensuring compliance with applicable safety requirements and maintenance procedures in Qatar.
Key Requirements- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in BMU or suspended access equipment maintenance.
- Diploma or ITI qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with BMU electrical controls, motors, brakes, hoists, hydraulic power packs, and safety systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Valid work-at-height and rescue training certification.
- BMU troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Hydraulic-system maintenance.
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Wire-rope and safety-device inspection.
- BMU manufacturer training or certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in Qatar or the GCC is preferred.
- Basic English communication and report-writing skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
- Strong safety awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to attend emergency breakdowns and work outside normal hours when required.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of BMUs, cradles, hoists, davits, monorails, and suspended access equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control-system faults.
- Inspect wire ropes, sheaves, drums, brakes, motors, gearboxes, limit switches, load cells, and safety devices.
- Test emergency-stop, overload, anti-tilt, limit-switch, and emergency-lowering functions.
- Carry out lubrication, adjustment, component replacement, and system calibration.
- Attend breakdown calls and restore equipment safely and promptly.
- Conduct daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections as per the maintenance schedule.
- Assist with load testing, commissioning, and third-party inspections.
- Follow approved method statements, risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures, and work-at-height requirements.
- Maintain service reports, inspection checklists, fault reports, and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer recommendations, company procedures, and applicable Qatar safety regulations.
- Coordinate with clients, supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance teams.
- Support emergency rescue and recovery activities when required.
