Piping Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of pipe fitters providing training guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
• Plan coordinate and oversee piping projects from start to finish ensuring they are completed on time within budget and to the required specifications.
• Inspect piping installations and repairs to ensure compliance with local building codes safety regulations and project specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical drawings to determine the layout and specifications of piping systems.
• Develop work schedules for piping staff assigning tasks based on project needs and team members skills and availability.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients engineers and other trades ensuring clear communication regarding project progress issues and changes.
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during piping installations or repairs including troubleshooting and providing effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed including project timelines materials used and any changes to project scope.
• Ensure that all piping work is performed in accordance with safety protocols and regulations promoting a culture of safety among team members.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of piping tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in pipe fitting techniques, including cutting, threading, and welding.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Diploma or equivalent; completion of a piping or plumbing apprenticeship or vocational training program is preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., NCCER, ASME) may be required or preferred.
• Proven experience as a pipefitter or in a similar role, with several years in a supervisory or leadership position.
• In-depth knowledge of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques.
