As a Welder in Doha Canada you will be responsible for performing welding duties in a variety of settings This may include working on construction sites in fabrication shops or in industrial plants You will use your knowledge and skills to join metal parts together using various welding techniques such as MIG TIG and Stick welding
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the specifications and requirements for each project
- Set up and operate welding equipment according to the type of metal being used
- Inspect materials and structures to identify any defects or imperfections that may impact the welding process
- Clean and prepare surfaces for welding by removing rust debris or other contaminants
- Perform welds according to specific techniques and specifications outlined in the project plans
- Monitor equipment and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality welds are produced
- Use a variety of tools such as grinders saws and cutting torches to shape and trim metal parts as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment at all times
- High school diploma or equivalent required post-secondary education in welding or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Welder in a similar setting
- In-depth knowledge of different welding techniques including MIG TIG Stick welding
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify imperfections or defects in materials
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
