Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician
We are looking for an experienced Senior Instrument Technician to lead and perform advanced instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, installation, loop checking, and commissioning activities in Petrochemical / Oil & Gas facilities. The role requires strong expertise in instrumentation systems, vibration monitoring, compressors, turbines, anti-surge systems, and hazardous-area equipment.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesLead and perform preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of instrumentation systems.
Carry out instrumentation erection, installation, loop checking, commissioning, and functional testing.
Maintain and troubleshoot flow, level, pressure, and temperature transmitters.
Work on Fisher-Rosemount Smart transmitters and Masoneilan/Fisher Smart positioners.
Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot Masoneilan, Fisher, Metso, on/off, and solenoid-operated valves.
Troubleshoot switches, regulators, filters, and other instrumentation equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot ESD, DCS, and local PLC control panels.
Perform installation, calibration, checking, and online fault finding of vibration probes.
Support instrumentation activities related to compressors and turbines.
Troubleshoot and maintain anti-surge valves and controllers.
Work with and troubleshoot Woodward governors.
Ensure compliance with hazardous-area requirements and applicable Ex procedures.
Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and other technical teams to resolve instrumentation issues.
Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, inspection, and testing records.
Follow PTW, site safety, and RLIC requirements at all times.
Minimum 2-year ITI or equivalent certificate course in Instrumentation/Electronics.
Minimum 8 years of Petrochemical / Oil & Gas industry experience.
3-year Diploma in relevant Engineering preferred.
Valid Qatar driving license is mandatory.
Defensive driving training required for driving inside RLIC.
Strong hands-on experience with instrumentation maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, erection, loop checking, and commissioning.
Strong knowledge of vibration probes, compressors, turbines, anti-surge systems, and Woodward governors.
